Al-Raqqah governorate – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has monitored this evening clashes with medium and heavy weapons between SDF and Turkish-backed factions, following an infiltration attempt by Turkish-backed factions on frontlines of the villages of Al-Mishrefa and Jabhal in the countryside of Ain Issa, north of Raqqa. No casualties have been reported so far.
This comes after about six days of tense calm on these frontlines.
On January 6, SOHR activists reported renewed clashes in the early hours of Wednesday morning between SDF and Turkish-backed factions on the frontlines of Mu’allaq village in Ain Issa countryside in the northern countryside of Al-Raqqah. The clashes accompanied by exchange of shelling and fire, amid reports of casualties on both sides.
On January 5, Observatory activists monitored exchange of shelling between Turkish forces and their proxy factions on one hand, and Syria Democratic Forces on the other, on Ain Issa frontlines in northern Al-Raqqah.
Meanwhile, SDF managed to destroy a mechanised digger and a military vehicle (Shilka) belonging to the Turkish-backed factions on the frontlines of Mu’allaq village. On the other hand, the villages of Houshan and Al-Khalidiyyah came under Turkish bombardment.
